Jeanne Sheridan is a photographer living in Rabbit Hash, Kentucky, a Northern Kentucky hub of tradition and historic treasures. Photography is her mid-life creative pursuit having worked as a professional musician for over 25 years from coast to coast.
"I have always loved taking pictures. When I got my first "Instamatic" camera for Christmas, I went out to take pictures of the snow rather than snapshots of holiday moments. I became fascinated with the intense contrast between the snow and dark water running for its life before completely freezing over."
Most of Jeanne's work is outdoor nature photography although she is beginning to incorporate people as subjects as well.
"My most recent project is to capture the beauty of the mature woman. Seems she is overlooked in a society that regards youth as beautiful and age as the enemy. My goal is to capture the "spirit" of the mature woman. Physical attributes are a minor asset... It's who she is, not what she looks like that I aim to capture on film."
The common denominator that runs through Jeanne's photography is the love and respect for timeless beauty.
